Dip in the South of France

One of the best swims I ever had was at Cannes. In June I was able to join Greenlight Films at the popular and exciting Cannes Lions. Cannes Lions stretches for about a week, a few days being busier than others, but definitely a party at every corner. Unlike the famous film festival, all the big brands, marketing and ad agencies get a chance to learn and network in a more fun way than business suits and ties. How could you not? In June it starts to get really hot and you need to jump in the water. I did.

My first stop was Paris. It's the cheapest if you're flying from New York and you can hop on the train at Gare De Lyon to Cannes. It was my first time visiting and honestly, I had no idea why it took me so long, so don't be like me! We were only there for a day but we made time to sail along the Seine. What a beautiful tour! The fun part is you can book your ride for whatever length. One hour? Three hours with meal and bottle of wine?

Our train ride was not that long. One tip to know is once you know your track get there fast since there's not much space for big luggages. Gare de Lyon is a big station, too.

Once we arrived we were off to find our Airbnb. The architecture of the homes and buildings are beautiful with so many surrounding flowers and trees. As you walk by you'll smell a very pleasant scent and it's jasmine. Jasmine is everywhere in Cannes!

At night you have to walk down in the Old Town. There are so many great restaurants and popular bars like Charly's. Charly's definitely has the best DJ! Food is amazing and hospitality was wonderful wherever we stopped. You will also find so many great shops on Rue d'Antibes. Save your money because it's so hard not to go in and find something beautiful. I also loved that when I did attempt to speak French I was greeted with a big smile on the sales associate's face. I wanted a shirt I couldn't find. She grabbed the last one in my size on the mannequin that was on display. Don't you love that feeling? You got the last one.

While we were networking and partying on for Greenlight Films it's so easy to get distracted with the beautiful view! It does not get dark until 9pm and the water is still warm at that time. I love swimming under with my eyes open and the water will not burn your eyes.

Our next stop was Saint-Tropez. It's about an hour drive for travel. It's famous for its beautiful beaches and Old Town where big yachts reside. There is also a lot of shops so definitely keep saving your money. The clothing shops were filled with cool bohemian chic attire that you wish you can wear all the time.

The beach we stopped at was called Pampelonne and we ate at L'orangerie Plage Restaurant. The restaurant has beautiful decor with a nice beach vibe. At the table, no one complained about their dish. As you're eating and enjoying the view it starts to hit you again that you're in the South of France and it's blissful.

Will I go again? Absolutely! I do love surfing so my next trip will have a detour but once you visit the French Riviera you realize why everyone loves it. My three suggestions if you visit in the summer are bring sunblock, buy yourself a nice shirt or dress, and last you can't be on a diet. Everything tasted so good from the bread to the ice cream. Treat yourself! Au Revoir, France! à Bientôt!
