Smell like Patchouli and Vanilla

Autumn is around the corner and for most us that forecasts drier skin. We all know how amazing shea butter is, but I got bored with it. I started doing research and learned about the skin benefits of mango butter and avocado butter. The kernels of mangoes are pressed into fatty oils which contain vitamin A, E and C. Unlike coco butter the smell is so subtle and makes it easy to add your favorite essential oil scent. Many have used it to treat acne scars, dark circles, fine lines, stretch marks, and even help insect bites. It's non-comedogenic and has a lighter feel than shea butter when applied to the skin.
Avocados are my favorite! On toast, salad, and even by itself it's the best! When I read that they are also great for skin I knew I had to try it. Oil is extracted from the green pulp with a very mild scent. It's rich in vitamins A, D, and E. The antioxidants can also help eczema, psoriasis and acne prone skin. It hydrates the skin without leaving an oily residue and absorbs easily. It's no surprise that it's in a lot skin care products.
Today we are all more conscious of what is in our skin care. I didn't want any additives, fillers or chemical names. I have very irritable skin and unfortunately I break out a lot on my back and upper arms. I also have a lot of acne marks and I'm getting older. I wanted a good natural skin product that could help with irritation, acne marks, and anti-aging.

I came up with this formula:
1 4 oz of mango butter
1 4 oz of avocado butter
2 teaspoons of coconut oil
7 drops of essential patchouli oil
4 drops of essential vanilla oil
The goal is to buy 100% pure and natural butters. I added refined coconut oil. Avocado butter isn't as stiff as mango so I didn't need to mix a lot of the oil.
I would suggest a large bowl and you'll need a mixer. I dropped the avocado butter first, mango, and two teaspoons of coconut oil. First I smashed the mango into the avocado and coconut with a fork. I then started to use the hand mixer. I whipped about 5 minutes. I did take little breaks but you want to make sure that there are no lumps from the mango butter. You need to whip until you get a nice creamy texture (slideshow below).
Add the essential oils lastly depending on how strong you want the scent. I wanted mine to be soft but still leave a trace.
It was my first time making my own body butter and it's more simple than comparing products. I love that I know what's exactly in it.
A small trick I like to do is leave my body butter in the refrigerator overnight. After a morning shower this will give a better mood booster. It's worth it.
